Behaviour Modification

for Anxious, Nervous, Reactive and Aggressive dogs

How they work

Our behaviour modification packages are designed to give you and your dogs a new lease of life. We combine scent-work and Tracking with counter conditioning and desensitisation, using positive reinforcement and modern, kind teaching methods to help teach your dog a more appropriate way to interact with the world around them.

Additionally, we teach you why your dog is behaving the way they do by taking a frame-by-frame look at their body language through videos we have taken, meaning that you can recognise when they are stressed.  We provide practical management and training techniques that you can apply in all situations to help improve you and your dog's quality of life.

Behaviour modification takes time, effort and management, so isn't a 'quick fix', but often improvements in the way your dog acts can be seen after just one session! It is important to understand that your dog may take months or even years to get better, and they may never be fully 'fixed', and although more intimidating and aversive training methods may appear to produce faster results, evidence shows that this may just suppress the dog's behaviours and make them more dangerous, so with behaviour modification work, slow and steady truly is more beneficial.

Our space at the Hamworthy Club gives us the opportunity to create a controlled environment wherein we use our own dogs and people we know to simulate real life, and give us time to practice the techniques and management skills you will take out with you!

Our initial consultation will last an hour and a half and cost £75, allowing us to gather relevant information about you and your dog to create a detailed programme for you and your dog to follow. From there we will suggest the most-suited package for your dog that we believe will yield the best results.

"With a reactive dog, you can rest assured that MYM will have your back and ensure that you and your dogs are safe"

Does your dog bark or lunge at other dogs? Are they anxious of other people or scared of the outside world? At Make Your Mark, we have personal experience with anxious and reactive dogs, and know how frustrating, heart-breaking and worrying it can be to have a dog that isn’t 'normal'.

"Highly recommend Jack and Jodie. They are very inclusive and have helped me, and my rather nervous dachshund, develop our confidence. They really are for all types of dogs and all aspirations"
