Scentwork is a fun, low impact and inclusive activity for dogs of all ages and abilities. In our classes, dogs are worked one at a time to ensure that they not only get 1-2-1 attention, but also to keep them as comfortable and happy as possible!
Our scentwork classes are taught by UK College of Scent Dogs accredited instructor, Jack Fenton, who has learnt from many different trainers and organisations including the UKCSD, Talking Dogs and the School of Canine Science.
Like with all of our classes, scentwork lessons are all about dogs and handlers enjoying themselves, with no pressure. However, the way we teach will set you and your dog up for success should you ever want to compete in scentwork with your dog in the future.
How do I get started?
To join scentwork classes, you first have to take part in one of our Introduction to Scentwork Workshops which will give you and your dog all of the basic skills and information to get started in the activity!
After your introduction workshop, you can join regular weekly scentwork classes, where you will work on building search stamina, scent ID and indications, as well as searching different objects, in different environments and (when the weather is good) vehicles.
Where do classes take place?
Our scentwork classes take place at Knighton House in Blandford on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons and Mudeford Wood Community Centre in Christchurch on Sunday evenings.
