Terms and Conditions*

*By signing up to attend any course, workshop, class or event with Make Your Mark, you are agreeing to the following T&Cs. Non-compliance may result in discontinuation of training without a refund.

General Terms and Conditions

  • All classes including rolling must be paid for in blocks of six via BACs or Paypal, cheques will not be accepted.

  • In the event you are unable to attend an entire block of classes that you have paid for, refunds must be requested ten days prior to the start date. We require five working days for a refund to be delivered and a £15 administration fee will be incurred.

  • In the event you are unable to attend classes you have paid but are within the ten day period, we can not offer any refunds. In the case of extenuating circumstances, an alteration to this condition may be considered, but this shall be determined on a case by case basis.

  • In the event you are unable to attend a rolling class in the block of six you have paid for, you are allowed two ‘deferrals’ to move to other classes either in the block or in the next block, provided information of your lack of attendance is provided forty-eight hours ahead of that class starting. If it is after the forty-eight-hour window, the deferral is void.

  • You must not knowingly book an aggressive or highly reactive dog into one of our classes or 1-2-1s without informing us first. In the event it is discovered your dog is a danger to themselves or others in a class setting, you may be asked to leave and not be offered a refund.

    • If unsure of your dog’s level of aggression or reactivity, we will offer an evaluation at one of our outdoor venues to determine suitability for classes. In the event your dog is uncomfortable or reactive within the class environment, we will offer an alternative solution such as 1-2-1 sessions in order for you and your dog to meet your goals and needs.

  • All dogs must be kept under control at all times, with no exceptions. When dogs are not being worked they must either be in their car, in a crate or on leash near their handler.

    • Dogs are not allowed off leash unless specifically instructed by the instructor for specific circumstances such as agility training or off-leash searches for scentwork. Dogs, when tracking, must always be on a long line held by their handler or member of the Make Your Mark team.

  • All dog poo must be picked up by the dog’s owner.

  • When attending classes, students must bring their own dog food and poo bags. Make Your Mark and its staff can take no responsibility for any allergens or allergic reactions your dog has while at a Make Your Mark event.

  • Make Your Mark will endeavour to run training classes in a professional, organised and safe manner for all involved. Make Your Mark is fully insured with public liability insurance suitable for running dog training classes, 1-2-1s, seminars and workshops. Participation in Make Your Mark’s various classes, 1-2-1s, seminars and workshops is entirely at risk of the participant and their dog. Make Your Mark, its staff, volunteers and owners of our training venues take no responsibility for injuries or losses sustained. Handlers remain responsible for their own dogs at all times, and are advised to have pet insurance covering their animal in the unlikely event of injury or an accident to occur to a third party.

  • When working with any dogs that show aggressive or highly anxious behaviour, no official behavioural modification training can take place until the dog has been vet checked to rule out any pain or discomfort. Upon request students can be sent over a vet referral form for their vet to sign off on. Unfortunately if the student does not wish to get their dog thoroughly vet checked if pain is suspected, then behavioural modification training cannot continue.

  • Please note that if you have chosen one of our 1-2-1 training packages, this does not include doing any form of behavioural modification training including but not limited to: aggression to dogs, aggression to people, resource guarding, separation anxiety. If students wish to change their packages to a behavioural modification package, then the number of sessions will be altered or the price can be updated to reflect the chosen package.

  • If working at a different venue, we take no responsibility for any difficulty students have with finding the venue and any injuries or losses that may occur at that venue.

  • Although we strive to not cancel or postpone classes, if due to weather, venue issues or illness we are in a position where we cannot run as planned, we will contact students via email and via text if possible. We always aim to inform clients at least one hour in advance, however this may not always be possible in all circumstances. It is advised that students check emails before leaving to attend dog training.

  • Make Your Mark reserves the right to take photographic, video and audio content of all MYM related activities including classes, 1-2-1s, seminars and workshops. By agreeing to the terms and conditions you agree that yourself, your dog and anybody who attends the session with you are able to be used for marketing purposes on Make Your Mark's website, promotional content and social media accounts.

  • Make Your Mark is all about providing the best experience for customers and dogs. If what is provided is not to satisfaction, please inform us and we can either explain our reasoning more throughly or make alterations.

  • MYM follows the IMDT Code of Ethics, which can be found here.

  • It is recommended that students use hand sanitiser and pet-safe disinfectant to thoroughly clean any of their equipment that may have been handled by a non-household member.
